How to use this converter

  1. Wrap a tape around your head about 1 cm above the ears and eyebrows.
  2. Note the circumference in centimetres.
  3. Find the matching row to read US, UK and EU hat sizes.
  4. Choose the larger size if you sit between two rows.

Why sizes differ between countries

Size labels come from national fit blocks developed decades ago from different population surveys. The US and UK use garment-based numbering, most of Europe derives sizes from body measurements in centimetres, and Japan, Korea and China use their own regional standards. Because no global standard exists, matching your measurements to the chart is always more reliable than matching the label.
